Dolce Edition publishes only music for recorder (blockflute). From the start, we have concentrated on finding fine music from a variety of sources, rather than just churning out yet more mediocre baroque sonatas. We have many works by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Scarlatti and Purcell.
Where something is good, we believe you should have it all (at a sensible price), so we have complete editions of the 9 Telemann original recorder sonatas, the same composer’s Methodical Sonatas, the 6 sonatas of Francesco Barsanti, and the complete Der Fluyten Lust-Hof of van Eyck (the only edition with a useful commentary).

Dolce Edition is a publishing enterprise dedicated solely to the recorder, including music from the middle ages to the present day.
Dolce Edition has been particularly innovative in the newly-emerging area of csakan music; this repertoire, from the early nineteenth century, provides a much-needed change from the basic diet of late baroque music.
Although most “original” baroque music for recorders has been done at least once, there are, strangely, some areas that have been neglected,
Paisible and William Topham, as well as other figures.
But perhaps the strongest area of the Dolce catalogue is the introduction of repertoire taken from other instruments: we are doing all the Handel flute sonatas in transpositions for recorder, as well as many works by Babell, Leclair, Quantz, Fontana. Particularly fine are the six sonatas by Bach arranged for recorder and keyboard.
This catalogue includes some LPM titles where the order code is fol- lowed by the letter R. In these versions parts for the alto (treble) recorder do not involve reading up an octave. If you can read up an octave (a skill that you can acquire in a weekend) there are hundreds of titles in the LPM catalogue that you could explore.
