Ensemble music
Our Ensemble series includes music in from 3 to 7 parts by Purcell, Frescobaldi, Handel, Bach, Vivaldi, Lupo, Gibbons and Boismortier. Particularly popular are Purcell's complete 4-part fantasias, Dornel's trios, and the concertos for 4-5 recorders by Boismortier.
For something a little different, try Sweelinck's beautiful 4-part fantasia (DOL 317) or one of the capriccios based on popular dance tunes by Frescobaldi (DOL 307, 323, 333, 334). For classic 16-century counterpoint the two books of ricercars by Palestrina (DOL 318-9). If you are feeling brave and energetic, try the virtuosic Fuga allegro e staccato by Bach. For wonderful harmonies try Legrenzi (DOL 335) or the chromatic toccatas of Frescobaldi (DOL 301)
